Ewa Beach Golf Club

Ewa Beach Golf Club is located near West Oahu at the far end of Ewa Plains, and offers one of the best shaped greens and fairways on Oahu. The course was built around the remains of an ancient Hawaiian fishing village right where you’ll take your first shot onto the fairway.

Opened in 1993 and located on the backside of Pearl Harbor, the Ewa Beach Golf Club has had four different names during its brief existence. What has remained constant, however, is the genuinely charming layout designed by the team of Robin Nelson and Rodney Wright, which winds its way through a Kiawe forest on mostly level, sandy terrain.

The clever use of two distinct parcels of land—neither of which is particularly large—is testimony to its creative design. The rear parcel is bordered by housing but is a shotmaker’s delight, utilizing a number of water features intermingled with short par-4s and only one par-5. The front parcel delivers championship-caliber holes of all shapes and sizes and requires ample tee shots, fairway woods, and long irons. Among the more compelling holes is the par-4 at No. 2, which shares a double-green with the par-3 16.

A point of interest at Ewa Beach is the use of emerald green Seashore Paspalum grass throughout the layout, although fairways are in the midst of being changed to Bermuda varieties.
